The Office of the Narcotics Control Board (ONCB) organized the “Run with Love, Care with Heart Recovery Run” to pass on opportunities, reduce stigma, and build a society of new beginnings.
On 14 June 2026, the Office of the Narcotics Control Board (ONCB) held an event. “Run with Love, Care with Heart – Recovery Run.” Held under the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, more than 1,200 people including the public, runners, partner networks, individuals who have completed drug rehabilitation, and their families participated to share encouragement, foster correct understanding, and support the reintegration of reformed individuals into society under the concept “Every Opportunity... Builds a New Beginning.” The event was organized through collaboration between government agencies, private sector, civil society organizations, and international bodies supporting drug user rehabilitation efforts.
Police Colonel Suriya Singhakamon, Secretary-General of the ONCB, said that drug problems are a challenge requiring cooperation from all sectors. Sustainable solutions need to combine prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation so that those who complete treatment can return to society normally.
The event featured health running activities, presentations of rehabilitation promotion services from government and civil society agencies, physical and mental health education, career promotion, and booths promoting stigma reduction and opportunities for those who have completed rehabilitation.
The atmosphere throughout was warm and full of positive energy, reflecting Thai society’s readiness to support rehabilitated individuals to regain strength. Many families, rehabilitated persons, and the general public joined side by side, demonstrating that acceptance and understanding are key factors for successful recovery.
The “Run with Love, Care with Heart – Recovery Run” serves as an important mechanism to advance the concept of rehabilitation for those with drug problems based on public health and human rights principles, focusing on creating opportunities, acceptance, and social participation to achieve tangible and sustainable drug problem solutions in Thailand.
“Every opportunity society offers is the power of a new beginning, and every new beginning is the hope for building a strong, safe Thai society that leaves no one behind.”
