Pradorn, Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office, revealed he will present the results of the FY 70 budget hearing to the Cabinet tomorrow before submitting it to Parliament for agenda inclusion at the end of the month. He is confident there will be no delay and the timeline for October 1 will be met, even as the People's Party plans to scrutinize the Digital Economy Ministry's budget.
At 12:15 p.m. on 15 June 2026 at the Government House, Mr. Pradorn Prisananantakul, Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office and overseer of the Budget Bureau, said the Cabinet meeting on 16 June will include the presentation of the hearing results on the FY 2570 budget bill, totaling 3.78 trillion baht, which the Cabinet approved two weeks ago. The hearing was conducted as legally required, and most feedback indicated that many agencies felt their budget allocations were insufficient. After Cabinet approval tomorrow, the bill will be printed formally and submitted again to the Cabinet on 23 June to be included on the agenda to notify the House of Representatives. It is expected to enter the House for first reading between 29 June and 1 July. The second and third readings are anticipated between July and September. He is confident the FY 2570 budget will be implemented on time by 1 October.
When asked about MP Parit Watcharasindhu of the People's Party preparing to scrutinize the FY 2570 budget and the FY 2569 budget transfer bill, Mr. Pradorn welcomed this, saying it will help jointly oversee government spending. He acknowledged the Budget Bureau had limited time for this budget cycle's preparation. He said it is now the responsibility of the budget committee to examine details, and if any excesses are found, they must be trimmed.
Asked whether scrutiny of certain ministries’ budgets, such as the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society, would delay the FY 2570 budget process, Mr. Pradorn said it would not and that the timeline remains unchanged, with completion by 1 October.
