After a closed session, General Kriangsak Srirak, First Deputy Speaker of the Senate, presided over the meeting and called for a vote. At 13:08 GMT+7, the results showed that Senators approved Mr. Noppadon Pheriruek, the nominee for Secretary-General of the Council of State, with 147 votes in favor, none against, and 22 abstentions.
General Kriangsak summarized that the voting results showed Mr. Noppadon Pheriruek received the Senate's majority approval and is therefore confirmed as Secretary-General of the Council of State.
At the same time, the Senate also voted not to disclose the minutes of four meetings and the confidential report of the standing committee responsible for verifying the background, conduct, and ethics of the nominee for Secretary-General of the Council of State. The vote was 156 in favor, 17 opposed, 6 abstained, and 2 did not vote.
