Urgent: Ministry of Interior Orders Transfer of 2 Phuket Deputy Governors in 5-Position Swap Effective 16 Jun

Effective tomorrow, 16 June, the Ministry of Interior has issued a sudden order transferring two Phuket deputy governors: Teerapong Chuaychu to Nakhon Si Thammarat and Adul Chuthong to Songkhla, involving a total of five position swaps.

On 15 June 2026, reporters reported that the Ministry of Interior issued transfer orders for civil servants in executive level positions, specifically deputy provincial governors. A total of five officials were transferred under Order No. 1483/2569 dated 15 June 2026, consisting of:

1. Ms. Wajiraporn Amatayakul, deputy governor of Nakhon Si Thammarat, transferred to deputy governor of Samut Sakhon.

2. Mr. Teerapong Chuaychu, deputy governor of Phuket, transferred to deputy governor of Nakhon Si Thammarat.

3. Lt. Col. Khetrath Chansilp, deputy governor of Samut Sakhon, transferred to deputy governor of Phuket as replacement.

4. Mr. Adul Chuthong, deputy governor of Phuket, transferred to deputy governor of Songkhla.

5. Mr. Romdon Hayiawe, deputy governor of Songkhla, transferred to deputy governor of Phuket.

These transfers take effect from 16 June onward.
Officials are required to report for duty as per the orders on 16 June 2026.

Further reports suggest this follows Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul’s order to investigate rumors of internal conflicts within Phuket province during the Ministry of Interior meeting this morning (read more: Ministry of Interior turmoil: “Anutin” demands to know about the “Seafood Deputy Governor” and criticizes those calling for Phuket governor’s dismissal as foolish. ."
