Recall of Thai Crown Decoration from Former Teacher for Serious Disciplinary Offense: Unauthorized Absence Over 15 Days

The King graciously ordered the recall of the Thai Crown Decoration (Tritha Porn Mongkut Thai class) from a former government teacher who committed a serious disciplinary violation by being absent from duty for over 15 consecutive days without reasonable cause, after being ordered dismissed from government service.

On 15 June 2026, the website Government Gazette published an announcement from the Prime Minister's Office regarding the royal permission to recall a royal decoration. Deputy Prime Minister Yossanan Wongsawat was the recipient of the royal command, with the content as follows:

His Majesty the King graciously granted royal permission to recall the Thai Crown Decoration (Tritha Porn Mongkut Thai class) which Ms. Ratana Kaewduang, a former government teacher and educational personnel, holding the position of Teacher Level 1 at Khong Thong Wittaya School under the Nakhon Pathom Secondary Education Service Area Office, Office of the Basic Education Commission, Ministry of Education, was awarded due to her serious disciplinary violation of unauthorized absence for more than 15 consecutive days without reasonable cause.

This is a clearly established offense under Clause 2 (2) of the Teachers and Educational Personnel Disciplinary Code B.E. 2549 (2006), concerning serious disciplinary offenses under Section 87, Paragraph 2 of the Teachers and Educational Personnel Act B.E. 2547 (2004), as amended. She was ordered dismissed from government service effective 27 June 2022 by a final order, which is the basis for recalling the decoration according to Clauses 6 and 7 (4) of the Prime Minister's Office regulations on requesting royal permission for recalling decorations B.E. 2548 (2005). Ms. Ratana Kaewduang's name has been removed from the list of decoration recipients as per the relevant Prime Minister's Office announcement.
