The government is encouraging shops to use “Nok Kasip,” an AI assistant on the Thai Wallet app, revealing that more shops are adopting AI to help manage their businesses. Usage has surpassed 400,000 times, leveraging data to develop trade.
On 16 June 2026, Ms. Ratchada Thanadirek, spokesperson for the Prime Minister’s Office, announced that “Nok Kasip,” the AI assistant for shops on the “Thai Wallet” application, was officially launched by Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul on 15 June 2026. The accumulated usage has exceeded 400,000 times, demonstrating that small entrepreneurs are beginning to apply AI technology in daily business management.
This project builds on the Upskill/Reskill initiative under the Khon La Khrueng Plus program, which aims to enhance the capabilities of small entrepreneurs to compete in the digital economy era. Recent data shows that the food and beverage sector is the largest user of “Nok Kasip,” accounting for about 60% of total users, reflecting a demand for digital tools to manage costs and increase business efficiency.
Usage data also indicates continuous development in entrepreneurs’ use of AI. Originally, about 80% of users relied on system-suggested questions (Guideline), but now that has decreased to 40%, as more entrepreneurs type questions and seek advice independently. This reflects growing familiarity and confidence in using AI as a business management assistant.
At the project’s start, over 40% of inquiries concerned how to register for the program. Currently, entrepreneurs increasingly ask business-related questions, such as pricing, promotions, cost management, and product sourcing, indicating the practical use of data in planning and developing their businesses.
The government plans to continuously develop “Nok Kasip” capabilities, including comparing sales with similar local shops, providing in-depth business data analysis, and integrating with the “Ari Score” system to enhance entrepreneurs’ access to credit and financial services more conveniently.
“The government aims for AI to be a key tool in enhancing the capabilities of small entrepreneurs, boosting competitiveness, and strengthening the grassroots economy in the long term. The positive response and increasing usage show that digital technology can truly reach the public and create economic opportunities for entrepreneurs nationwide,” the spokesperson said.
