The government will convene a special Cabinet meeting on 18 June, with Phiphat presiding, to review the details of the draft Budget Act for fiscal year 70 before printing it. The draft will then be submitted to the parliament for first reading by 1 July to be ready for use on 1 October according to the budget calendar.
On 16 June 2026, reporters at the Government House reported that on 18 June, the government has scheduled a special Cabinet meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn. This is because Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul is attending the special ASEAN-Russia summit in Kazan, Russian Federation, from 16 to 19 June.
A key agenda is to review the details of the draft Appropriation Act for fiscal year 2570 (2027), which the Cabinet has already approved, totaling 3.78 trillion baht, following the procedures and budget calendar for FY 70. The Budget Bureau has already conducted public hearings on the draft within the legally required timeframe.
After the special Cabinet meeting reviews the FY 70 draft Appropriation Act, the Budget Bureau will print the draft between 17 and 22 June. The Cabinet is expected to approve it on 23 June, after which it will be submitted to the House of Representatives for consideration. It is anticipated that the first reading in parliament will occur around 1 July, with the second and third readings expected between July and September to ensure the FY 70 budget is ready for use from 1 October 2026.
