Supachai Criticizes Phawath for Disrespecting Parliamentary Committee Work

Supachai criticized Phawath for belittling the parliamentary committee's work, warning him not to be arrogantly self-righteous after only a few days on the job.

On 16 June 2026 at the Bhumjaithai Party headquarters, Supachai Jaisamut, a party list MP from Bhumjaithai, held a press conference addressing remarks made by Phawath Pongwittayapanu, a People’s Party MP, who criticized the parliamentary committees in a dismissive manner, claiming the committee members lacked quality and acted as if they were the only ones doing good work.

Supachai said Phawath has only been serving as an MP for a few days and needs to learn more about how committees operate and the political party system. Once working in committees, members must set aside their party roles to collaborate for the common good. Supachai added that Phawath's disparaging attitude toward committee members, secretaries, and advisors is inappropriate. While some may lack direct expertise, they have knowledge and skills in other areas that help advance the committee’s work.

Supachai continued that the parliament includes many committees chaired by members of the People’s Party, Phawath’s own party, and their chairpersons perform their duties similarly to those from other parties in managing and driving the committees toward their goals.

"Having only been in parliament a few days, don’t rush to disrespect this institution. Use that time to prove your own merit and capability visibly. If you keep thinking you’re the only good one while others are bad, that’s called arrogance," Supachai said.
