At 14:38 on 17 June 2026 GMT+7, Ms. Rakchanok Srinok, a party-list Member of Parliament (MP) from the People's Party, posted,on Facebook,regarding a photo of a conversation with, Mr. Chaiyachonok Chidchob, Minister of Digital Economy and Society, in the parliamentary chamber, stating they met in the meeting room, and she asked Mr. Chaiyachonok with the following conversation:
1. "Tomorrow at the Budget Oversight Committee meeting, are you invited to attend?" He replied he would not come and would send the permanent secretary instead.
2. "Have you reconsidered canceling the project?" He did not respond.
3. "Have you seen the latest evidence I revealed that the project started as early as October?" He said, "Not yet."
Ms. Rakchanok further stated that although she did not believe he had not seen it, she showed her phone as proof that the project began before the TOR was issued, which is abnormal and suggests corrupt behavior. Another MP who came to talk and was seen shaking hands with him was asked if merely inviting Mr. Chaiyachonok to talk caused distrust and concern enough for supervision. She emphasized there was nothing more to it.
Regarding those who see the photo and suspect a political deal, she confirmed that opportunities to meet ministers are rare. Even submitting parliamentary questions rarely gets answers, and invitations to explain to committees often go unanswered. So, this was simply a rare chance to talk.
