On 17 June 2026, reporters reported that on 11 June 2026, Prime Minister Anutin Chanvirakul signed Prime Minister's Office Order No. 227/2569 appointing the Joint Public-Private Committee on Economic Problem-Solving (กรอ.). This aims to ensure ongoing economic development aligned with the country's economic situation and government policies, as well as to support and enhance the role of the private sector at both central and regional levels to collaborate effectively with the government in national development.
The committee is chaired by the Prime Minister, with Deputy Prime Minister Akniti Nitithanprapas as vice chair. Members include Deputy Prime Minister Pakorn Nilprapunt; Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation Pradorn Prissanantakul; Ministers of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Transport, Digital Economy and Society, Energy, Commerce, and Industry; Permanent Secretaries of the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Commerce, and Ministry of Interior.
Also included are the Secretary-General of the Council of State, Secretary-General of the Office of the Public Sector Development Commission, Secretary-General of the Board of Investment, Director of the Budget Bureau, Governor of the Bank of Thailand, Chairpersons of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, Federation of Thai Industries, Thai Bankers' Association, Chair of the Thai SME Confederation, Secretary-General of the National Economic and Social Development Council as committee member and secretary, Director of the Fiscal Policy Office as member and assistant secretary, and Deputy Secretary-General of the National Economic and Social Development Council as member and assistant secretary.
The committee's duties include reviewing and recommending strategies and measures to the Cabinet for addressing economic, trade, and investment problems faced by the private sector at both central and regional levels. It also facilitates collaboration between the private sector and government to promote economic growth that is competitive, efficient, and sustainable.
The committee will hold its first meeting on 22 June at 09:30 at Phakdi Bodin Building, Government House.
