The government is partnering with Wat Ratchabophit to host a major exhibition, “13 Cycles of the Zodiac at Wat Ratchabophit,” honoring Princess Bajrakitiyabha from 19 to 21 June 2026.
On 17 June 2026, Mrs. Yupa Taweewattanakitboworn, Secretary-General of the Prime Minister's Office, announced that the Prime Minister's Office, together with Wat Ratchabophit Sathitmahasimaram and related agencies, is organizing the exhibition "13 Cycles of the Zodiac at Wat Ratchabophit: The Royal Patronage of Devotion" to honor Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendira Debyavati, the Princess Rajasarinisiri Patchara Maha Vajrarajadhida, from 19 to 21 June 2026 at Wat Ratchabophit Sathitmahasimaram.
Mrs. Yupa stated that this event follows the wish of His Holiness Somdet Phra Ariyavongsagatayana Somdet Phra Sangharaja, the Supreme Patriarch, who expressed that Princess Bajrakitiyabha, who passed away on 11 June 2026, rendered countless benefits to the nation, Buddhism, and the public. She had deep royal devotion and generously supported the Sangha and Buddhism, especially Wat Ratchabophit Sathitmahasimaram in many ways.
To respectfully commemorate her benevolence and dedicate merit to this virtuous royal figure, His Holiness approved adjusting the purpose of the 99th birthday celebration of the Supreme Patriarch at Wat Ratchabophit Sathitmahasimaram by including content and objectives to also honor Princess Bajrakitiyabha.
The event will feature two main exhibition sections: "13 Cycles of the Zodiac at Wat Ratchabophit: The Royal Patronage of Devotion," showcasing the biography, achievements, and contributions of Princess Bajrakitiyabha to Wat Ratchabophit Sathitmahasimaram,
and the "99th Birthday Auspiciousness of the Supreme Patriarch" exhibition, presenting the story of the former monarch who was the royal patron of Wat Ratchabophit, the history of the temple, past abbots and revered predecessors, as well as the activities and honors of the Supreme Patriarch on the occasion of his 99th birthday, reflecting the bond among the religious institution, monarchy, and Thai society.
Additionally, the event includes notable activities such as guided tours of Wat Ratchabophit Sathitmahasimaram, a first-class royal temple with significant historical, architectural, and artistic value; a light, color, and projection mapping show inside the stupa titled "Rattanakosin Faith Under the Patronage of the Supreme Patriarch"; plus performances of local arts, culture, and wisdom.
Furthermore, on 20-21 June 2026, academic seminars led by experts will be held to exchange knowledge on topics connecting religion, history, and contemporary society, including "Epigraphy at Wat Ratchabophit" and "Buddhism in Contemporary Thai Society: The Leading Role of the Sangha and the Supreme Patriarch," highlighting Buddhism's role as a source of intellect and morality in Thai society.
