Ice-Rom Believe Phawat Is Ready for DSI Investigation If Linked to Forex Case, Hope Its Not Revenge After TH-AI Passport Probe

"Ice-Rom" in unison believe that "Phawat" is prepared to be investigated by the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) if his name is implicated in the Forex case. However, the information is not yet 100% confirmed, awaiting the Justice Minister's briefing tomorrow. They hope this is not a revenge tactic following the probe into the TH-AI Passport project related to TH-AI Passport.

On 18 June 2026, Ms. Rakchanok Srinok and Mr. Rangsiman Rom, list MPs from the Prachachon Party, commented on rumors that the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) is preparing to release names of politicians and actors involved in an unauthorized network soliciting investments and trading foreign currencies (Forex). After raiding the network, they seized substantial assets and uncovered financial links spanning various sectors. Among those named is politician Phawat, who later personally denied any involvement in the Forex case.

Ms. Rakchanok said they have not yet received detailed information about the matter but understand that the press conference tomorrow (19 June) may reveal connections to individuals within the Prachachon Party. Everyone is ready to undergo the investigation process and cooperate fully with all agencies.

Mr. Rangsiman added that regarding reports about Mr. Phawat, he views Phawat as a diligent individual who has closely followed the TH-AI Passport project. Just yesterday, he spoke with Phawat about the matter, who continues to monitor the situation. He believes that ultimately, everyone is ready to cooperate, and that Phawat, as a financial platform expert, will be valuable in providing information and resolving issues related to finance.

When asked about reports that the Prachachon Party plans to lobby government agencies to reveal names of politicians involved in the Forex case after the Bangkok gubernatorial election, Mr. Rangsiman said he believes such a move is impossible. Since this morning, news about Mr. Phawat has dominated social media, so attempts to spread rumors about lobbying are unlikely. On the contrary, after this matter, Phawat is expected to enter the investigation process. He emphasized that the party has no authority to command government agencies; their role is solely to cooperate. His remarks are not to defend anyone but to support a transparent investigation process.

When asked whether this is a political game to overshadow the government's current issues, Mr. Rangsiman acknowledged that incidents involving Ms. Rakchanok and others investigating the TH-AI Passport project—including Mr. Chaichanok Chidchob, Minister of Digital Economy and Society, who is deeply involved—are complex. He does not wish to speculate if this is political maneuvering but hopes that releasing Phawat's name is not politically motivated. They await details from Pol. Lt. Gen. Rutthapon Naowarat, Minister of Justice, to respond to media and societal questions. So far, it is not confirmed whether Phawat's name is included, nor have accusations or charts been seen. Providing full information is difficult, but he assures the public that the Prachachon Party is ready to cooperate.

When questioned about suspicions that opponents may be targeted whenever government-related issues arise, Mr. Rangsiman stated that everyone must help monitor the government. This is his strongest response. Many government actions, such as transfers and projects, involve budgets and taxpayers' money, as well as principles of administrative ethics. Without ethical systems, good actors do not prosper while wrongdoers thrive, creating a patronage system nationwide. This includes embezzlement and money laundering of public funds. He questioned if that is the kind of country people want. Today, what is needed is oversight. He cannot yet conclude or answer if this is revenge but urges the media to investigate. As opposition, they perform their duties fully but must rely on evidence. The TH-AI Passport project is clear; if the country upholds rule of law and justice, he doubts such a project could continue.
