Akranant Advances Rights and Freedom Center to Fully Protect Teachers and Aid Them Against Injustice

Akranant advances the Rights and Freedom Protection Center, fully defending teachers' rights, assisting fellow teachers against injustice, and breaking through all limitations.

At 09:30 on 18 Jun 2026 GMT+7, Mr. Akranant Kankittinan, Deputy Minister of Education and Director of the Rights and Freedom Protection Center, presided over the opening of the Safety Promotion School training workshop (SPS OBEC TEAMS) organized by the Office of the Basic Education Commission (OBEC). The initiative aims to promote a safe environment for everyone in schools. Dr. Linthiporn Warinwatcharoj, Assistant Minister of Education, and Mr. Paramee Waichongjaroen, Advisor to the Deputy Minister, also attended at Avana Hotel, Bangkok. Before the training began, the Deputy Minister led attendees in a one-minute silent tribute to the immeasurable royal grace of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, and Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendiradebyavati, at the Royal Residence.

Mr. Akranant said that as Director of the Rights and Freedom Protection Center at the Ministry of Education, he is deeply concerned about the physical and mental safety of all personnel. Currently, many teachers have been victims of violence. The center was established to safeguard the welfare of over 400,000 teachers nationwide by employing the online 'Traffic Fondue' system and technology to receive complaints directly to the Minister's team and executives. This reduces complex steps, allowing teachers to access help quickly, transparently, and safely, with an immediate alert system if local agencies fail to act.

Mr. Akranant added that going forward, the approach will focus on swift, integrated work involving all sectors. Cooperation has been established with the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security and the Department of Mental Health, Ministry of Public Health, to systematically support the emotional and mental well-being of both teachers and students. He urged all OBEC administrators and personnel to be vigilant and protect teachers in their areas, expressing confidence that when teachers feel safe and happy at work, it will truly translate into quality education and happiness for students.
