On 19 June 2026 at Military Airport 2, Wing 6 (Wg.6) Don Mueang, Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul addressed the transfer of the governor and deputy governor of Phuket. The opposition views it as just a scene in a play, exploiting the situation to place people from the 'blue regime.' The Prime Minister repeated the reporter's phrase "just a scene in a play," then added, "The world is a play, and in the final scene every character must die."
Regarding concerns about the transfer of the Songkhla deputy governor, whom locals regret losing because he had established flood prevention systems but was transferred just before flood season, the Prime Minister said not to worry. He emphasized that the government does not tie work to individuals; this is administration and country management. People come and go, but the certain thing is the people and country must benefit. Decisions are considered step-by-step, with the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior responding to policies by keeping names confidential and monitoring behavior. Anyone causing harm, if not illegal, still retains rights to be transferred to positions deemed suitable.
Regarding perceptions that transferring Mr. Theerapong Choochue, former deputy governor of Phuket, back to his hometown was a promotion rather than a punishment, the Prime Minister said to ask whether it was a promotion or not, then firmly stated, "There is none. Can you imagine?"
