Anutin dismisses the drama surrounding the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society, saying he talks with Chaiyachonok every day and is confident their work benefits the public. He stresses there will be no cabinet reshuffle as everyone is still performing well, no need to measure KPIs, but warns talented individuals who lack initiative must improve.
On 19 June 2026 at Military Airport 2, Wing 6 (Wing 6) Don Mueang, Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, spoke about setting KPI targets for ministers from the Bhumjaithai Party. He said ministers are responsible for running the country, so their performance must be evaluated. Regarding Bhumjaithai Party members, as reported, everyone must work diligently for the government and the people. There is no need to measure KPIs, but API and Anutin PI are required.
Asked whether KPIs would be applied to coalition party members, Anutin said he could not interfere with them. If damage occurs, he must inform coalition partners. There are rules and etiquette involved, but decisions rest with him.
On whether any ministry, especially economic ones, requires special scrutiny, Anutin said he looks at the overall picture and individual cases. This is normal when working for the country. Everyone must stay alert. Talented people who become complacent and think they are untouchable must improve.
Asked if this process should be faster than one year, Anutin said no timeline is set. If harm is caused to the country, corrective action must be taken immediately. He reiterated that no cabinet reshuffle has occurred; work continues well. All ministers remain dedicated. Some are weak in public relations, so they are encouraged to promptly communicate their achievements to the public.
Regarding the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society (DE), and whether he has spoken directly with its minister amid recent drama, Anutin responded by asking what it means to speak directly with the minister. The minister is secretary-general of the Bhumjaithai Party; they talk regularly, every day, consulting on all matters. He said he does not pay attention to trends but focuses on truth and beneficial outcomes, assuring that the ministry’s work benefits the public and enhances the capabilities of citizens and students to access advanced communication technology.
