Sirikanaya revealed that the Pracha Chart Party is awaiting details of the case involving Pawat, whose name is linked to Forex money laundering. She affirmed that if he is truly guilty, the party is ready to take disciplinary action. She emphasized that if the allegations are untrue, there is no lobbying, and urged not to disclose names before the Bangkok governor election.
On 19 June 2026 at the Pracha Chart Party, Ms. Sirikanaya Tansakul, party-list MP and Deputy Leader of the Pracha Chart Party (PCh), spoke about the DSI naming Pawat Pongwitthayaphanu, party-list MP of PCh, in the Forex money laundering case. She said they have made some inquiries but must wait for the DSI’s official statement. They need to review details to determine the facts. She referenced a prior case involving a Bangkok MP candidate who was detained; although his name was not removed from the 33rd district candidacy, he was immediately disqualified as a candidate. In the end, he was found innocent and the prosecutor did not file charges. She emphasized the need for fairness for those suspected, as there is a chance they are innocent. The damage to their reputation and family can be significant, so all parties should act fairly.
When asked how the party would respond if strong evidence confirms Pawat’s guilt, Ms. Sirikanaya said that if the evidence is solid, they would proceed with disciplinary or other actions. However, at present, they have not yet seen full factual information and must wait for the DSI to disclose more. Whether he would be removed from the party-list depends on the evidence of wrongdoing. Regarding rumors that this case might affect the Bangkok governor election, she believes the impact would be minimal but said the situation must be followed based on official statements. When asked about claims that the party lobbied to delay revealing names before the Bangkok governor election, Ms. Sirikanaya denied this, stating no such lobbying occurred.
