Election Commission Warns Against Publishing Bangkok-Pattaya Poll Results Within 7 Days Before Election

The Election Commission warns against publishing poll results for the Bangkok and Pattaya elections within seven days before voting to ensure the elections are honest, fair, and allow voters to exercise independent judgment in their decisions.

On 19 June 2026, the Election Commission Office issued a request for cooperation from candidates, political parties, media, pollsters, and the public to refrain from disclosing or publishing opinion poll results related to voting in the Bangkok governor, Bangkok council members, Pattaya mayor, and Pattaya council members elections from Sunday, 21 June 2026, until 17:00 on Sunday, 28 June 2026.

According to the Election Commission's 2020 regulations on campaigning methods and prohibited actions in local council or executive elections, including amendments (No. 2) 2020, Article 23/2 prohibits candidates from allowing political parties or anyone else to disclose or publish public opinion poll results regarding voting during the seven days before election day until the polls close, for election campaigning purposes.

This prohibition aims to ensure elections are conducted honestly and fairly, giving voters the chance to make independent decisions free from the influence of opinion polls that might affect their choices in the final days before voting.

The Election Commission Office therefore requests strict compliance from all sectors with the relevant laws and regulations and invites eligible voters to exercise their right to vote on Sunday, 28 June 2026, from 08:00 to 17:00 at their registered polling stations to help create elections that are honest, transparent, impartial, and fair.
