Pawat Vows to Clarify, Denies Using MP Privileges Expects 28 Million Baht from Online Gold Trading

Pawat explains the hot issue, expecting the 28 million baht to come from online gold trading, asserts he will not use MP privileges, and is ready to clarify the facts for public understanding.

At 15:10 on 19 Jun 2026 GMT+7, Pawat Pongwittayapanu, a party-list MP of the People's Party, posted on Facebook stating: Following the DSI's announcement at 11:00 on 19 Jun 2026 GMT+7, I wish to clarify as follows: Before entering politics, I engaged in various businesses such as online trading, online payment systems, and many technology provider services. I also served as a consultant for various business types, involving clients both domestic and foreign companies, which is natural in online business. However, prior to fully committing to politics, I resigned from all directorships and shareholdings in the companies related to this matter. Therefore, regarding the company mentioned, I cannot comment as I am no longer involved.

Pawat further explained the facts regarding the 28 million baht credited to his bank account as follows: Three years ago, I opened an investment account for gold trading through a broker. This gold investment was conducted online, similar to many public investors. The funds in question are likely from this gold trading activity. Money was deposited and withdrawn multiple times during buying and selling, but ultimately, this investment resulted in losses, and I have long ceased trading.

Denies involvement in investment scams.

Pawat added that he does not yet know the exact timing or source account of the 28 million baht mentioned by the DSI. A preliminary check suggests that the DSI's statement may differ from the facts. If the DSI wishes to investigate further, I am ready to provide all information for verification. My personal matters are currently under public scrutiny and suspicion.

"I affirm that I have no involvement in any schemes to solicit or defraud investments, scammers, or any form of online gambling. I am willing to undergo the investigation process and confirm that I will not invoke MP privileges. I am prepared to provide information to authorities to ensure transparency and clarity for society," he said. Pawat stated.
