The government is promoting soft power and Thai arts and culture by inviting Thai children under 18 years old to compete in a singing contest with prizes totaling over 500,000 baht.
On 19 June 2026, Ms. Ploytale Laksamee Saengchan, Deputy Spokesperson of the Office of the Prime Minister, revealed that this year's "Youth Preserving and Loving Thai Songs" singing contest is held for the third time by the Crown Property Bureau. The event aims to encourage children and youth to use their free time productively while developing their skills in music and performing arts. It also serves to preserve the cultural heritage of Thai songs accurately according to linguistic principles to ensure their continuation in Thai society.
This singing contest is divided into three categories: Luk Krung, Luk Thung, and Contemporary Thai songs. Contestants must be children or youth aged no older than 18 years or currently studying up to Grade 12 or equivalent at the time of application. Additionally, they must not have previously won first, second, or runner-up prizes in any category of this contest organized by the Crown Property Bureau. Contestants must also not be bound by contracts with any agencies, companies, or music labels. If under contract, a written consent letter from the affiliated organization is required.
"This project is an important opportunity for youth to showcase their talents and help preserve Thai songs, so we invite interested young people to apply free of charge," the Deputy Spokesperson said. She added that interested children and youth can apply from now until 15 July 2026. Further details and application information are available on the Facebook fan page "Youth Preserving and Loving Thai Songs" or by calling 09-0975-5555 during business hours (08:30–16:30).
