Rome Delivers Fiery Speech Declaring Orange Party a Nightmare for Grey Capital and Corrupt Officials, Accuses Smear Campaigns

"Rome" delivered a fiery speech, declaring the Orange Party a nightmare for grey capital and corrupt individuals. He stated the party is under attack, with fabricated false stories presented at press conferences to defame it. He questioned whether the past four years have brought genuine change or just more sophisticated corruption, emphasizing that the People's Party's DNA refuses to surrender to corruption.

On 19 June 2026 at the Pak Khlong Talat Flower Market on Phran Nok–Phutthamonthon Sai 4 Road, the People's Party held a major rally near the final stretch of the Bangkok governor election campaign. Rangsiman Rome, list MP and deputy leader of the People's Party, spoke about the importance of dreams, saying that without dreams there can be no change. If we cannot even imagine a country or city different from the one we live in, it means we will remain stuck where we are.

He said he is from Phuket and has lived half his life in Bangkok, sharing in the joys and hardships of the city's people. His motivation for entering politics is to address corruption. He acknowledged that corruption is pervasive everywhere, with taxpayers’ money used for kickbacks and personal gain by some. This problem exists not only at the national level but also in Bangkok.

“When people talk about the People's Party, the Orange Party, they say it is a vigorous political party. Grey capitalists, corrupt officials, and dishonest politicians from any profession fear and worry that if this party gains power, change will come. That is our DNA,” he said.

Rangsiman also recalled that since running under the Future Forward Party banner, he has sensed that the orange party has never been welcomed by concession owners who exploit public contracts to siphon off taxpayers’ money. That is why elites benefiting from this system will do everything to prevent this party from gaining power.

“It’s not just national politics or local politics; no matter the level, they will never allow us to gain power. They will try everything, even staging press conferences with officials spreading untruths, fabricating stories, and making false accusations to destroy this party,” he said.

Rangsiman continued that the party must work to transform politics at every level. They must have the DNA of those who refuse to succumb to corruption and the old political system. They must reject politics filled with corruption. Therefore, this election is not just about choosing the governor and councilors; it is a declaration that Bangkok will no longer tolerate kickbacks and corruption. Four years ago, there was hope—even though the Orange Party did not win the governorship, there was visible change. He asked plainly: Is Bangkok better today? Is it easier to live in?

He highlighted corruption as a persistent issue and asked whether corruption has truly lessened over the past four years. He urged asking contractors if they still pay bribes under the table, or if the reality is that corruption has just become more sophisticated and cleaner—morally refined graft. He questioned if people want to continue like this. His proposal is that this election is not only about Bangkok's governor and councilors but also about injecting an anti-corruption vaccine into local politics via the People's Party.

“They fear us and will do everything to stop us. Today’s press conference is clear evidence of the various methods used to destroy this party. Will we allow this party to be destroyed? If not, it’s not just about liking or voting for us; we must ensure the People's Party can firmly establish itself in Bangkok,” he said.

Rangsiman said that last time they won several councilor seats, though not a majority. They exposed information and held debates. Considering the size of the People's Party team, which includes knowledgeable people working alongside 33 MPs, Bangkok will certainly change. Corruption in Bangkok can be addressed, even though it has become more subtle. He assured that they will tackle corruption nationwide as well.

He recalled that the party leader once asked what effective methods exist to fight corruption. Some suggest sending cases to the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), but that takes years. It’s unclear if any governors in the news have been sent to the NACC. Simply doing that is insufficient. The real solution is to tackle money laundering because these corrupt people seek money. If they cannot use that money, corruption dies. Which political party will handle money laundering of grey officials, corrupt politicians, or even grey councilors? Only this party will.
