Mallika Declares High Chance of Victory, Closing in on Chatchat Calls for Unity to Transform Bangkok

Mallika campaigned at Rim Bueng Market in Lak Si district, promoting an economic revival plan to solve chronic urban problems using AI technology to address traffic congestion and flooding. She claimed that polls place her in second place but with a very high chance to win, nearly closing the gap with Chatchat.

At 8:00 a.m. on 20 June 2026 at Rim Bueng Market, Thung Si Kan and Thung Song Hong subdistricts, Lak Si district, Bangkok, Dr. Mallika Boonmitrakul Mahasuk, candidate number 14 for Bangkok governor, met with market vendors, entrepreneurs, and residents in this key economic area of Lak Si, where many people pass through daily.

The atmosphere was lively, with many people greeting her, requesting photos, and sharing issues they want Bangkok Metropolitan Administration to urgently address. Dr. Mallika said this visit is part of her final campaign efforts, just seven days before the election, to seek votes and present a 14-point development strategy for Bangkok that can be implemented immediately.

Dr. Mallika stated that top concerns among locals include the economy, trade, and rising living costs. Therefore, she is pushing policies to stimulate the grassroots economy, support small traders, community markets, and small businesses to generate income and increase economic opportunities across all Bangkok districts.

Additionally, Lak Si faces many chronic problems such as traffic congestion on Chaeng Watthana Road, recurring flooding, public transit connection issues, waterlogging during heavy rains, inadequate community and public walkway lighting, public safety concerns, and the need to organize public spaces for effective shared use.

Dr. Mallika proposed solutions using AI technology for city management, including an AI Traffic Real-Time system to ease congestion, an AI Flood Radar to monitor and manage flooding in advance, installing smart lighting and CCTV in risky areas, and upgrading public services for fast and transparent citizen access.

"Bangkok must be a city where everyone has the opportunity to earn income, feels safe, and receives quality services equally across all 50 districts. If entrusted by the people, I am ready to work immediately and effectively to make Bangkok a city of opportunity, creative economy, and livability for all," she said.

Dr. Mallika invited citizens to exercise their right to vote in the Bangkok gubernatorial election on 28 June 2026 and asked for votes for candidate number 14 to help create change and a new future for Bangkok.

"Current poll results place me in second place but the gap is not as wide as academic polls suggest. I now have a very high chance of winning, nearly breathing down Chatchat's neck. I urge everyone who plans to vote for number 14 to be confident, and to ask friends and family to support as well — one person asking four more. I am confident of a decisive victory."
