21 Jun 2026 GMT+7 Narucha Khoasivilai, Director-General of the Department of Provincial Administration, Ministry of Interior, spoke regarding the case of Rungreung Thimabut, former Phuket provincial chief officer, who filed a complaint at the Regional 8 Criminal Court on corruption charges under Section 157 related to an improper assistance order, along with the issue of the leaked LINE chat saying 'Help Namngern.' He stated that regarding the leaked LINE chat, he confirms it is not his message and denies the accusations.
As for the assistance order issued to Mr. Rungreung, the Director-General is confident that all procedures were properly followed. He reported the matter to his superiors, none of whom have questioned or indicated he violated any regulations or laws.
Narucha added that regarding the lawsuit filed by Mr. Rungreung, he respects his right to seek justice and requests that the facts be awaited following the Ministry of Interior’s investigation. "In addition to being the Director-General of the Department of Provincial Administration, I am also a member of the Anti-Money Laundering Office board. From now on, any cases found to have grounds for offenses will be forwarded to the AML Office for appropriate action," he said.
