On 21 June, Yingluck Shinawatra's 59th birthday, close associates posted wishes expressing love and respect. However, "Ink" and her family have not posted birthday greetings as they usually do each year.
On 21 June 2026, reporters noted that this date marks the birthday of Ms. Yingluck Shinawatra, former Prime Minister and younger sister of former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra. Born on 21 June 1967, she turned 59 this year.
There were fan pages posting birthday wishes as well as Kanapoj Jomrit, also known as Eng, a member of the team under the Deputy Minister of Education, a political advisor to the Pheu Thai Party, and a close friend of Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, former Prime Minister. He posted a photo with Yingluck on his personal Instagram with the message, “Happy birthday, Prime Minister Poo. Wishing you happiness, good health, and to always be loved by the people. Thank you for your advice, guidance, and for sharing your experience, which has helped me work better. Thank you for your continuous kindness. With love and respect always ❤️”
Also, Ms. Sutisa Prathumkul, currently working with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation Mr. Yossanan Wongsawat, and formerly worked with Ms. Paethongtarn, posted on her personal Instagram with the message, “Wishing you happiness and good health. Happy birthday, Prime Minister. Still loving and respecting you always ❤️❤️❤️” She also posted Instagram stories recalling when she worked with Ms. Yingluck as well.
Reporters further noted it is notable that other members of the Shinawatra family, such as Ms. Paethongtarn, as well as her elder sister and brother, have not posted public birthday greetings for "A Poo" on social media this year as in previous years. However, it is closely watched that Mr. Thaksin Shinawatra, after being granted royal pardon and receiving a clean legal record, is reported to be planning to travel to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, to meet his sister later this month. Further updates will be reported.
