Prime Minister Anutin Shops at OTOP Midyear 2026

Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul carried a shopping bag at OTOP Midyear 2026 for the second day, spending over five hours there. He expressed delight over sales reaching 147 million baht in just a day and a half and invited the public to support entrepreneurs by using the Thai Chua Thai Plus program.


At 3:00 p.m. on 21 June 2026, after returning from a mission in Loei Province, Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, who is also Minister of Interior, accompanied by Mrs. Thananon Charnvirakul, Chairwoman of the Ministers’ Spouses Committee and Honorary Advisor of the Interior Ministry Housewives Association, Miss Traisul Trisoranakul, Secretary to the Prime Minister, and Mr. Arsit Sampantharat, Permanent Secretary of the Interior Ministry, arrived at the OTOP Midyear 2026 event held at Challenger Halls 1-3, IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center, Muang Thong Thani, Pak Kret District, Nonthaburi Province. They were welcomed by Mr. Siam Sirimongkol, Director-General of the Community Development Department; Mrs. Orjira Sirimongkol, Vice President of the Interior Ministry Housewives Association and Chairwoman of the Community Development Housewives Club; Mr. Chettha Mosikharat, Governor of Nonthaburi; Mr. Warong Sangmuang and Mr. Phairoj Sopaporn, Deputy Directors-General of the Community Development Department, along with other officials.


On this occasion, Prime Minister Anutin joined youth from VoiZe Academy Thailand in singing harmony, performing royal compositions such as 'Evening (Love at Sundown)' and 'Near Dawn' by His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great, as well as the inspirational song 'Hometown'.


Following this, Prime Minister Anutin toured the event to encourage entrepreneurs and thanked attendees for their patronage across various zones. He sampled and purchased different products including dried foods, processed seafood, shrimp chili paste, salted fish, clothing, and accessories. During his walk, he urged the public to support entrepreneurs nationwide by purchasing their products and promoted the use of the Thai Chua Thai Plus program. The entrepreneurs registered in this program to facilitate citizens in reducing living costs by 60/40, per government policy. He also visited products from members of the Women's Role Development Fund and items made by inmates trained in vocational skills by the Department of Corrections. Additionally, he stopped to receive a neck, shoulder, and back massage at the Central Women's Correctional Facility booth located at pillar H1 in Challenger Hall 1. The Prime Minister spent over five hours at the event.


Meanwhile, total sales at OTOP Midyear 2026 from the opening day on 20 June 2026 until 1:00 p.m. on 21 June 2026 reached 147.433 million baht. The top five most popular zones were: 1. OTOP 5 Categories, 2. OTOP Taste Zone, 3. OTOP Artists, 4. OTOP Startup, and 5. OTOP Premium.


On Monday, 22 June, the Prime Minister will preside over the official opening ceremony of OTOP Midyear 2026 under the theme 'OTOP NEXT INSPIRATION: Creating Value from Local Wisdom to International Levels.' The event aims to add value to community products by blending local identity with innovation and creativity, while advancing the 'Thai Chua Thai Plus' policy to promote Thai product consumption and stimulate the domestic economy. The event runs from 20 to 28 June 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., at Challenger Halls 1-3, IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center, Muang Thong Thani, Nonthaburi. It features over 2,500 booths showcasing 3- to 5-star OTOP products from 76 provinces and Bangkok for the public to shop extensively.
