Anutin promotes the “Economic Cabinet Plus” model, bringing major private sector leaders into the team to help determine economic direction and streamlining procedures by sending resolutions directly to the full Cabinet immediately.
On 22 June 2026, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul chaired the first 2026 meeting of the Joint Public-Private Committee for Economic Problem Solving (JPPCEPS) at Phakdi Bodin Building. The Prime Minister stated that this meeting marks a new milestone in cooperation between the public and private sectors to drive a stable, strong, and sustainable Thai economy. JPPCEPS will serve as the main forum for exchanging views and encouraging private sector participation to effectively develop the country.
Anutin explained that the government initially planned to establish an "Economic Cabinet" but after discussions with the Deputy Prime Minister for economic affairs and the Cabinet, it was decided to genuinely include the private sector. Hence, this committee model was adjusted to an 'Economic Cabinet Plus' (Economic Cabinet plus private sector), with the private sector becoming a key force supporting the government.
“This JPPCEPS will meet regularly every month, or at least every six weeks. If there are important policy matters, resolutions from this meeting can be immediately presented to the full Cabinet, since ministers and related agencies are all part of this committee. This reduces steps, saves time, and accelerates policy decisions,” Anutin said.
The highlights of this Economic Cabinet Plus meeting include accelerating competitiveness on the global stage, focusing on key industrial sectors such as agriculture, energy, labor, and trade, as well as future industries emphasizing semiconductors and advanced innovation. Four subcommittees have been established to work on specific areas, aiming to break down economic obstacles and build long-term investor confidence.
The Prime Minister emphasized and requested cooperation from the private sector, heads of government agencies, independent organizations, and related state agencies to coordinate closely to achieve tangible results and create positive changes for Thailand’s economy.
