Prime Minister Emphasizes Firm Crackdown on Scammers and Nominees, Reports 60% Case Reduction Over Three Months

The Prime Minister stressed that cracking down on scammers and nominees is a main government policy, pointing out that case statistics have dropped by 60% over the past three months and insisting on maximizing the crackdown effort.

On 22 June 2026, Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, spoke after chairing a press conference on actions against scammers and dismantling transnational nominee networks. He said this is a key government policy. He has coordinated with the National Office, related agencies, and local administration to jointly prevent and seriously suppress transnational crime, with continuous monitoring. It is clear that case numbers have significantly decreased, assets seized have increased, and fraud cases follow the same downward trend, indicating these are real developments subject to scrutiny, not fabricated figures to report to superiors.

“We have seen clear changes. In the three months since we intensified enforcement, cases have dropped by nearly 60%. We must eradicate these crimes as much as possible,” he said.

The Prime Minister added that nominees exist in every area; wherever such activities occur, full action must be taken to raise awareness nationwide. If there is failure in enforcement despite the government’s seriousness, personnel capable of effective work must replace those responsible.

When asked if this was a warning to influential figures and nominees, the Prime Minister said there is no longer any warning—offenders will be immediately arrested. There are also processes for asset seizure, deportation, and banning from entering the country, and all such measures will be pursued.
