Elevating women's roles: Supamas takes up Prime Minister Anutin's directive to state media to communicate with women leaders nationwide, emphasizing the concept "Progressive Women, Progressive Nation." Policies must not remain just on stage but reach citizens in every area.
On 22 June 2026, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul presided over the policy presentation "Government Directions to Elevate Women's Roles for Sustainable National Development." This was held under the W-Unity project to unite women's power and hearts for development, organized by the Ministry of Interior through the Community Development Department and the Women's Role Development Fund at the Grand Diamond Ballroom, IMPACT Forum Building, Muang Thong Thani, Pak Kret District, Nonthaburi Province, with Supamas Isarapakdi, Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office, overseeing the Public Relations Department and MCOT Public Company Limited, along with the Cabinet, executives, and more than 2,000 women leaders from across the country attending.
Anutin said that half of the country's population is women, so elevating women's roles is not only a women's issue but Thailand's future. He outlined three key government directions impacting women's quality of life: supporting women to have families and children without losing work opportunities; ensuring women can travel and live safely in cities; and creating protection systems against domestic violence. He stressed that when women advance, the country advances as well.
Meanwhile, Supamas said the Prime Minister's policies reflect the government’s view of women as a vital force in family, economy, community, and leadership—especially women leaders at the local level, who are crucial in linking state policies to the people and strengthening the grassroots economy concretely. As minister overseeing the Public Relations Department and MCOT Public Company Limited, she is ready to use state media tools to expand the Prime Minister's policy messages to women nationwide, particularly subdistrict women leaders, women entrepreneurs, occupational group leaders, community women's networks, and Women's Role Development Fund members, so everyone can know, understand, and access government opportunities more fully.
"The key is that policies must not stop at the stage but travel to people in every area. I have therefore assigned the Public Relations Department and MCOT to jointly extend the Prime Minister’s messages in simple, relatable language that can be practically applied, so women leaders nationwide see opportunities, recognize their roles, and realize the government’s readiness to support Thai women moving forward with confidence."
The Public Relations Department was tasked to use its media channels systematically—including the National Broadcasting Services of Thailand (NBT), the National Radio Station, and provincial public relations offices nationwide—to convey government policies, stories of women leaders, role-model women, women entrepreneurs, and community occupational groups down to the subdistrict level, alongside translating policy content into information that the public can easily understand and access.
Meanwhile, MCOT Public Company Limited will play a key role in communication through channel 9 MCOT HD and its radio stations by producing and broadcasting content celebrating exemplary women leaders—entrepreneurs, occupational group leaders, and women driving community change—to inspire, expand success stories, and highlight the power of Thai women as national drivers, with continuous communication throughout the year.
Supamas added that as a woman in politics, she believes Thai women have great potential. With opportunities, support, and accessible communication channels, Thai women can be income earners, community leaders, and key contributors to national development. The Public Relations Department and MCOT are ready to serve as bridges to carry the Prime Minister’s intentions to women nationwide under the concept "Progressive Women, Progressive Nation."
After the W-Unity project opening ceremony, the Prime Minister, Supamas, and officials presided over the opening of OTOP Midyear 2026 at Challenger 2 Building, IMPACT Muang Thong Thani, an important platform for community entrepreneurs and women entrepreneurs nationwide to bring products, local wisdom, and community potential to broader markets.
The public and women interested in following policies and activities to elevate women's roles can tune in via the National Broadcasting Services of Thailand (NBT), the National Radio Station, the Public Relations Department's website and pages, channel 9 MCOT HD, MCOT radio stations, and provincial public relations offices nationwide.
