Deputy Prime Minister Discusses with Isan Farmers Assembly Group, Sets Problem-Solving Committee Meeting for 8 July

The Deputy Prime Minister held talks with the Isan Farmers' Assembly and the Isan Farmers' Federation, scheduling a problem-solving committee meeting on 8 July.


At 10:30 a.m. on 23 June 2026, outside the Civil Service Commission office, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation Yotsanan Wongsawat represented the government to receive a petition from representatives of the Isan Farmers' Assembly (IFA) and the Isan Farmers' Federation (IFF), who came to present proposals and follow up on progress in addressing farmers' issues. They were joined by Agriculture and Cooperatives Minister Suriya Jungrungreangkit, Minister of Social Development and Human Security Nikorn Somklang, Labor Minister Chulanat Amornwiwat, Deputy Agriculture Minister Watcharapol Khaokham, and Deputy Agriculture Minister Piyatutch Tiyapairat.


About 150 members of the Isan Farmers' Assembly (IFA) and the Isan Farmers' Federation (IFF), led by Sakda Kanjanasen and Buri Ajayotha, presented key demands concerning the acceleration of implementation of Prime Ministerial Order 168/2026 dated 14 May 2026 on the appointment of a problem-solving committee for the Isan Farmers' Assembly and Federation.


On this occasion, the Deputy Prime Minister listened closely to the problems, proposals, and demands from the group representatives, affirming that the government prioritizes resolving the hardships faced by farmers and is committed to addressing these issues through participatory mechanisms involving all sectors to ensure comprehensive and sustainable solutions.


The Deputy Prime Minister scheduled a meeting of the problem-solving committee of the Isan Farmers' Assembly and Federation for 8 July 2026 at the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives. The meeting will jointly consider problem-solving approaches, monitor progress on the demands, and push for effective implementation of related resolutions.
