Sirikanya Denounces Political Game After Police Chief Plans to Appeal Prosecutors Decision Not to Prosecute Former Bangkok MP Candidate for District 33

Sirikanya pointed out that the Police Chief's plan to appeal the prosecutor's decision not to prosecute the former Bangkok MP candidate for District 33 clearly indicates a political game. She acknowledged that the individual is still collaborating with the Prachachon Party.

On 23 June 2026, at the Future Forward building, Ms. Sirikanya Tansakul, party-list MP and deputy leader of the Prachachon Party, spoke about the case in which prosecutors decided not to press charges against the former Bangkok MP candidate for District 33 from the Prachachon Party. She said this case clearly involves political motives. After the prosecutor's decision not to prosecute, they waited for some time to see if the Police Chief would file an objection, but none was forthcoming. However, now that this issue has been made public at this time, there appears to be an intention to proceed with charges. Therefore, there will need to be a verification of the facts to see whether the prosecutor will uphold the original decision.

When asked if she was concerned about the Police Chief personally issuing a dissenting opinion, Ms. Sirikanya said she believes it is within the Police Chief's authority to sign an order expressing disagreement with the prosecutor's decision. When asked if the individual is still assisting the party, Ms. Sirikanya said she considers that person a former party member who continues to help and maintain communication with the party.
