Cabinet Approves Extension of Green Flag Affordable Price Plus Project Until September 2026

The Cabinet has approved extending the Green Flag Affordable Price Plus Project and the Cost of Living Relief Project by the Ministry of Commerce to ease the impact on the public from the Middle East conflict until September 2026.

At the Cabinet meeting on 23 June 2026, Ms. Ploytale Laksameesangchan, Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, revealed that the Cabinet approved extending the Ministry of Commerce’s measures and projects to alleviate the impact of unrest in the Middle East region (relief projects), specifically the Green Flag Affordable Price Plus Project and the Cost of Living Relief Project. The extension moves the end date from May 2026 to the period from May to September 2026, using the previously approved budget of 179.84 million baht to ensure effective implementation and maximize benefits for the public and farmers.

Ms. Ploytale explained that the Green Flag Affordable Price Plus Project assists farmers in accessing agricultural production inputs at affordable prices nationwide. Currently, it is planting season, with varying fertilizer demand and timing across regions. Farmers particularly need large amounts of fertilizer during July and August. Meanwhile, the Cost of Living Relief Project helps increase access to essential consumer goods at reasonable prices, promotes domestic spending, supports small businesses, stimulates grassroots economic circulation, strengthens local economies, and supports the country’s overall economic recovery. To ensure both projects operate effectively and meet the needs of people in each area, aligning with government policy under the Thai Help Thai Plus initiative—which stimulates the economy and alleviates living cost burdens to maintain purchasing power—the extension from May to September 2026 is necessary without changing the approved budget framework.
