
The government is moving forward with gathering opinions on the Cannabis and Hemp Bill draft until 1 July, inviting the public to help shape the legislation through two main online platforms.
On 24 June 2026, Ms. Ploytale Laksamee Sangchan, Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, announced that the government is proceeding with public consultations on the draft Cannabis and Hemp Act. The draft Cannabis and Hemp Act B.E. .... The second phase invites input from the public and stakeholders from today until 1 July 2026, aiming to refine the law to be precise and aligned with actual circumstances.
This public consultation on the cannabis and hemp law is divided into two key periods, following the Cabinet resolution on 10 March 2026, with the following details.
After completing the consultation process, the draft law is expected to receive approval from the Minister of Public Health before being submitted to the Cabinet for further consideration.
“This draft bill will establish clear rules and control measures to prevent misuse of cannabis. These mechanisms not only help secure public health but also serve as a key driver for sustainable long-term economic growth. This public consultation is highly valuable, as it ensures the law is thorough, reflects real conditions, and addresses concerns from all sectors to balance medical use, economic benefits, and public health protection, while reducing conflicts and building social confidence,” she said.
