Prime Minister Highlights Safety as the Core of National Development

The Prime Minister opened the 38th National Safety and Occupational Health event, highlighting safety as the core of the nation's development.


At 10:45 a.m. on 24 June 2026, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul presided over the opening of the 38th National Safety and Occupational Health event (Thailand Safe@Work 2026) at Halls 11–12, IMPACT Exhibition Center, Muang Thong Thani, Nonthaburi Province. The event was attended by the Minister of Labor, government executives, private sector representatives, employers, employees, safety personnel, students, and members of the public.


Before the opening ceremony began, the Prime Minister led attendees in a moment of silence to pay respects to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, and Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendiradebyavati, the Princess Royal.


Major Pattharadasm Thongsaluaykorn, Deputy Spokesperson of the Prime Minister's Office, revealed that the Prime Minister congratulated the enterprises receiving awards for achievements in safety and occupational health, reflecting their tangible commitment to raising Thailand’s workplace safety standards.


The Prime Minister recalled his past work experience as a construction engineer in both the public and private sectors, a field requiring high knowledge, expertise, and safety standards. Over more than 30 years, he observed clearly that “safety” is the key to success in all types of work.


He stated that from his experience, leading companies worldwide place great importance on occupational health and safety. He emphasized that organizations prioritizing employee safety can improve work efficiency and achieve good long-term outcomes. Although investing in safety incurs costs, the returns are increased work efficiency, better worker quality of life, and organizational sustainability.


The Prime Minister added that throughout his tenure as Minister of Public Health and Deputy Prime Minister overseeing the Ministry of Labor, he has fully supported occupational health and safety initiatives, believing these to be fundamental to national development. He praised the safety exhibitions and innovations displayed at the event, highlighting them as crucial tools to help businesses effectively raise their safety standards.


"Thailand must build a sustainable safety culture at all levels and prevent accidents from the start. The most important thing is to protect the lives and safety of workers," the Prime Minister said. The Prime Minister said this.


He expressed confidence that Thai entrepreneurs value safety and urged them to make full use of this event to acquire knowledge and innovations that will develop their organizations and improve workers’ quality of life, who are vital to driving the country’s economy.

At the conclusion, the Prime Minister affirmed the government’s readiness to support investment and economic development by building global confidence that Thailand is prepared with infrastructure, logistics systems, technology, and capacity to support new industries and innovations. He emphasized that the government will attract investment and reassure all sectors of business and entrepreneurship.


The Prime Minister presented plaques of appreciation to seven enterprises that supported the event: 1) Gulftex Co., Ltd., 2) 3M Thailand Limited, 3) Midori Anzen (Thailand) Co., Ltd., 4) Ultimate Plus Supply Co., Ltd., 5) Lireco (Thailand) Co., Ltd., 6) AS Global Tech Co., Ltd., and 7) Thai Occupational Medicine Research Center Co., Ltd.
