Lisa Slams Local Official Exam Fraud as a Nationwide Hidden Scandal, Urges PM to Root Out Corruption from the Source

Pakamon sharply criticizes fraud in local civil service exams, noting that the entire country is aware except for the Prime Minister alone, and urges him to have the courage to eradicate it completely from the roots of the problem.  ','tags':['local government','corruption','civil service exams','political accountability']

On 24 June 2026, Pakamon Noon-anun, a list MP from the People’s Party, spoke about the local civil service exam fraud scandal. She said that after following Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul’s interviews, it seems he is the only one surprised by the issue. On social media, however, no one is shocked because the public has long been aware of this problem, which is like garbage swept under the carpet for years.  ','tags':['local government','corruption','public opinion','Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul']

Pakamon added that culturally, when a scandal arises, the current Director-General of the Department of Local Administration (DLA) has already been transferred. However, to truly eradicate this corruption, action must be taken throughout the entire process—from beginning to end. This includes reviewing the involvement of two previous directors who were transferred and a key figure who signed the documents for the exam selection process: Narucha Kosasivilai, Director-General of the Department of Provincial Administration. This person cannot deny responsibility due to his signature on important documents. Today, she calls for the public not to let only low-level officials suffer or be scapegoated so that the issue ends with just a few transfers.  ','tags':['corruption investigation','Department of Local Administration','Department of Provincial Administration','accountability']

“So far, two transfers have taken place within the Ministry of Interior, but Director-General Narucha remains in his position without any impact. Society is increasingly questioning why there has been no action despite evidence, including chat messages supporting certain individuals. Being an unavoidable part of the process due to his role, he still has not been held accountable. We must ask: who exactly is he? How influential is he that nothing affects him regardless of what happens?” Pakamon said.  ','tags':['Ministry of Interior','official transfers','accountability','corruption']

Pakamon further stated that while fairness must be given to all civil servants, those in positions of responsibility cannot deny accountability. Since the Director-General of the Department of Provincial Administration signed the exam process documents, if low-level officials are punished, then those higher up involved must also share responsibility.  ','tags':['civil service','accountability','leadership responsibility','exam fraud']

When asked about the Prime Minister’s order to annul all exam results after uncovering the fraud, Pakamon said that although the political side tries to distance itself from the issue, such denial of responsibility is untenable. Ultimately, addressing the country’s large-scale corruption requires the Prime Minister’s unique "political courage" to bring transparency and reveal the truth to society. She questioned whether the Prime Minister truly only just learned of this scandal, as no one in the country believes that.  ','tags':['Prime Minister','exam annulment','political responsibility','corruption reform']

Pakamon concluded by emphasizing that the Prime Minister cannot avoid responsibility for all that has happened within the Ministry of Interior. Even if these problems were swept under the carpet before his tenure, he must demonstrate political courage and a clear commitment to solving the nation’s problems in a way the public can see.  ','tags':['Ministry of Interior','Prime Minister responsibility','political courage','public accountability']}] }  }  }
