Yotsanan Urges SWU to Resolve Local Exam Controversy, Emphasizes Transparency and Disclosure

Yotsanan Wongsawat, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, has tasked the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry to urge Srinakharinwirot University (SWU) to resolve issues regarding the local government exams, emphasizing the need for transparency and public disclosure.


At 13:50 on 24 June 2026 at the Government House, Yotsanan Wongsawat, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, spoke about the case where Srinakharinwirot University (SWU) was a contractor for local government civil service exams, amid findings of exam fraud.

He said he had assigned Professor Supachai Pathumnakul, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, to engage with the university's management. The university is expected to issue a statement clarifying the situation and affirming that the exam process was transparent, with procedures for disclosure to all involved parties.

When asked about the university's announcement to form an investigative committee but without specifying a timeframe, Yotsanan said he would discuss the matter further with the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry.
