At 16:15 on 24 Jun 2026 GMT+7 at the Government House, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation Yotsanan Wongsawat spoke about Srinakharinwirot University (SWU), the body responsible for administering the exam, forming a fact-finding committee after discovering fraud in the local official exam. He said he is willing to provide all requested information. The fact-finding committee will conduct the investigation as rapidly as possible. They have already reviewed all available data, and if more information is requested, it can be provided immediately.
When asked whether the investigation must adhere to the Ministry of Interior’s seven-day framework, Yotsanan stated he has not yet spoken directly with SWU’s rector but has assigned the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Higher Education to manage the matter. He expects the investigation to be completed soon. They are trying to align the processes to ensure the information is consistent.
When asked if he had discussed this matter with Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, Yotsanan said he had, emphasizing that transparency and integrity are paramount. All information must be made transparent and quickly accessible to the public. When asked if the Prime Minister gave any special instructions, Yotsanan said the PM urged everyone to work together to ensure full transparency so that the public can be confident and verify every step of the process.
