Worasit, Deputy Minister of Interior, chaired a central civil servants committee meeting on the hot topic of local civil service exam fraud, stressing the need to examine the facts and stating that if evidence is found, past cases will be reopened.
25 June 2026 GMT+7 Mr. Worasit Liangprasert, Deputy Minister of Interior, presided over the 6/2569 meeting of the Central Committee for Civil Servants or Local Government Employees. Relevant agencies participated in the meeting, which included discussions about cases of local civil service exam fraud under the Department of Local Administration.
Immediately upon arrival, Mr. Worasit briefly commented on reopening the district chief officer exam fraud case from over a decade ago, saying that if any actionable information is available, it must be pursued. Reporters then asked whether all Interior Ministry civil service exams suspected of fraud would be reopened. The Deputy Minister replied that it depends on the facts; if credible evidence of fraud exists, action must be taken. This meeting focuses first on local exam fraud.
Regarding discussions with the Permanent Secretary of the Interior Ministry earlier that morning about progress, Mr. Worasit said he inquired generally about what actions the ministry has taken so far. Afterwards, he chaired the meeting, opening it by emphasizing that besides the usual agenda, there is a pressing issue attracting public attention that needs to be discussed.
