Suchart Sends Lawyer to File Defamation Complaint Against 6 Individuals, Holds Back Names, Affirms No Action Over Thap Lan Criticism

Suchart has sent his lawyer to file defamation and Computer Crime Act complaints against six individuals, withholding the names of the accused, and emphasized that no legal action will be taken against criticism regarding the Thap Lan issue.

On 25 Jun 2026 GMT+7, personal lawyer Natthawut Wongniam of Suchart Chomklin filed a complaint at Thonglor Metropolitan Police Station against six individuals for defamation and violations under the Computer Crime Act after allegations of defamatory conduct causing damage to the minister.

The lawyer stated that this complaint was filed under authority granted by Suchart but the names of the accused and case details cannot yet be disclosed. He confirmed that all six individuals engaged in conduct that harmed the minister's reputation.

Regarding criticism surrounding Thap Lan National Park, the lawyer affirmed the minister's policy not to take legal action against honest opinions or criticism. However, if defamatory or excessive accusations continue without cessation, legal rights may be exercised later as the case is still within the statute of limitations. He stressed this is not intimidation but the victim’s legal right, while the minister focuses on resolving issues for the public's benefit.

During a media interview, Tharathip Chantawat, Deputy Secretary-General of the Ski and Snowboard Association of Thailand, inquired whether any athletes affiliated with the association might be involved in the case or face legal action.

The lawyer responded that details cannot be disclosed as the case is still at the complaint stage, with no names or behaviors revealed. He added that he does not personally know the association’s deputy secretary-general and declined to comment further, promising to provide full information after legal procedures conclude today.
