"Akkarasaenkiri" opposes the transfer of a ten-billion-baht budget, pressing the Prime Minister to explain how it will be used and urging support for farmers after a dry spell turned rice fields into grasslands suitable for hosting the World Cup comfortably. He declared that if the funds are misused, it will not be worthwhile and pledged to conduct scrutiny.
On 25 Jun 2026 GMT+7, Akkarasaenkiri Lohveera, MP for Chaiyaphum from the Kla Tham Party, debated the 2026 budget transfer bill. The main point is the transfer of 10,328,065,100 baht from various agencies to a central budget controlled by the Prime Minister. He said he does not doubt the details of which budgets are cut or their uses, but what he wants to hear from the Prime Minister is how the government plans to use this 10 billion baht. Importantly, if each agency loses part of its budget totaling 10 billion baht, he wants the Prime Minister to confirm whether these cuts will affect their operations. If the government intends to reduce excess spending by reallocating unnecessary budgets into a central fund under the Prime Minister’s supervision,
"I want to urge the Prime Minister and the government to use these funds to help solve problems for farmers and grassroots people," Akkarasaenkiri said. He added that upon returning to Chaiyaphum, he learned that many northeastern provinces—including Chaiyaphum, Khon Kaen, Nakhon Ratchasima, Roi Et, and Buriram—are currently experiencing a dry spell with no rain for several consecutive days.
"When I recently returned home to Chaiyaphum, farmers complained that the rain hasn't come. They sowed rice, but now the crops are withering and dying. The rice plants they cultivated look no different from grass. The rice fields now resemble grass fields; the soil is completely dry. Conditions like this could easily host the World Cup without the need to invest in planting grass. The costs of fuel, fertilizer, pesticides, food, housing, and basic necessities are even more expensive than the IPO stock prices of Elon Musk’s SpaceX," Akkarasaenkiri stated. Akkarasaenkiri said,
Therefore, he wants to hear an explanation from the Prime Minister and the government about how they plan to use the 10 billion baht. If the money is used to solve problems for the people, he and fellow Kla Tham Party members will have no objections and will support the government’s work. Although they remain in opposition, if the government uses the funds unwisely, they are ready to scrutinize its use.
