The Election Commission Collaborates with Chonburi Governor to Campaign for Voter Participation in Pattaya Mayoral Election

The Election Commission joined forces with the Governor of Chonburi province to hold a march encouraging citizens to exercise their voting rights in the Pattaya mayoral election. The activity is expected to increase voter turnout and reduce spoiled ballots in the election.

At 18:15 on 25 June 2026, in front of Central Beach Pattaya shopping mall on Pattaya Beach Road, Bang Lamung district, Chonburi province, Mr. Jirut Wisaljit, Election Commissioner; Mr. Narit Niramaiwong, Governor of Chonburi; Mr. Kiattisak Sriwongchai, Director of Pattaya City Election; Ms. Manatsanan Witthana, Director of the Election Commission Office in Chonburi; Police Major General Pongphan Wongmanithat, Commander of Chonburi Provincial Police; and Mr. Anusak Piriyaomorn, Bang Lamung District Chief, jointly organized the BIG DAY event for the election of Pattaya mayor and city council members. They also conducted a march urging eligible voters to participate in the election on Sunday, 28 June, from 08:00 to 17:00, with numerous government officials, community leaders, businesspeople, and students joining the activity.

During the event, Election Commissioner Jirut Wisaljit and Chonburi Governor Narit Niramaiwong jointly symbolized the opening by casting promotional ballots for the Pattaya City Council and mayoral elections under the theme “Build a Creative Pattaya, United in Voting.” Afterwards, they led a march to campaign and encourage eligible voters to turn out.

Mr. Kiattisak Sriwongchai, Pattaya City Permanent Secretary and Director of the Pattaya City Election, revealed that preparations for the election of Pattaya mayor and city council members, to be held on Sunday, 28 June, from 08:00 to 17:00, are fully completed. Pattaya has made arrangements for all aspects, including polling locations, personnel at polling stations, voter registration lists, security, and public convenience. The election is divided into four districts, with 80,204 registered voters and 113 polling stations.

He also reminded voters of important prohibitions to observe when voting: absolutely no removing ballots from polling stations, no destroying ballots, and no photographing one’s ballot inside the voting booth for external distribution, as such acts violate election laws and may result in legal penalties.

Furthermore, if any suspicious acts potentially involving fraud or election law violations within polling stations are observed, voters can immediately report them to the polling station committee chairman for investigation and appropriate action. The Election Commission affirmed it will oversee the election to ensure it is honest, transparent, and verifiable, thereby building public confidence among all voters.

Election Commissioner Jirut Wisaljit stated that the BIG DAY event was organized to raise accurate awareness and understanding about the election, stimulate eligible voters to participate collectively, and promote an election process that is honest, transparent, impartial, and fair. The event is expected to increase voter turnout, reduce spoiled ballots, and enhance public political participation.
