“Abhisit and Anucha” lead the Democrat Party team in the final stretch of the Bangkok governor election campaign, visiting Wattana, Dusit, and Ratchathewi districts to promote a healthcare policy focused on nearby access, reducing wait times, and eliminating inequality in services.
On 26 June 2026, Anucha Buppha-chaisri, Democrat Party candidate number 5 for Bangkok governor, intensified his final campaign efforts. He was accompanied by Abhisit Vejjajiva, party leader; Sakolthee Phattiyakul, deputy leader; and Ong-art Klam-aiphan, party advisor. The team visited Wattana district alongside Methawin Meesuwan, candidate for district councilor number 5. They campaigned in Phra Khanong and Rung Arun markets amid warm receptions from vendors and passersby on Sukhumvit 71 Road, who greeted and encouraged the candidates despite heavy morning traffic. Anucha took the opportunity to listen to public concerns about economic livelihood issues and plans to improve road landscapes to ensure safe trading environments.
Next, Anucha and the team visited Public Health Center 21 at Wat That Thong, one of 69 primary healthcare centers under Bangkok's jurisdiction. This center is a large, high-capacity primary service unit relied upon by local residents. During discussions with users, Anucha heard complaints about crowded waiting areas and slow registration processes. He proposed an urgent policy to implement a “Fast Track” system for the elderly and chronic patients to eliminate long wait times of 1-2 weeks. The plan also aims to increase medical staff ratios relative to daily patient numbers to reduce inequality and improve local access to doctors. Additionally, Anucha greeted parents dropping off children at Wat That Thong School before the flag-raising ceremony, communicating his commitment to enhancing quality of life starting at the family level.
