Nattapong Ruangpanyawut urged Bangkok residents to vote with hope, pointing out that the Bangkok election is not just about choosing the governor and councilors but is the starting point for changing politics across the country. He declared that Thailand has many talented people but lacks leaders who dare to stand for the people's interests, hoping to inspire political change nationwide within four years.
On 26 June 2026 at 19:10 at Benjakitti Park near the fountain plaza, the Prachachon Party held a major campaign rally titled "Fill Bangkok with 10" to support Chaiwat Stawarawijit, candidate number 10 for Bangkok governor, and candidates for all 50 Bangkok councilor seats. Nattapong Ruangpanyawut spoke, saying that his presence on this stage is not due to a political accident or simply following a political career path, but because he wants to work in politics to make the country truly owned by its people.
Nattapong continued that with only two days left until the election, he wants everyone to reflect on the reasons and meaning behind this election. Every time you vote, why do you choose? What does marking your ballot signify? Is it merely selecting the next governor and councilors, or is there a deeper significance?
Nattapong added that he believes the decision of Bangkok residents has become clearer over time—from 2019 through the 2022 Bangkok election, the 2023 general election, and now the 2026 election. The reason behind voters' decisions is a desire for better politics, wanting straightforward politicians who work to protect our collective interests and tax money, isn't that right?
Nattapong then asked a question about the upcoming election in two days, noting there are many councilor candidates, some affiliated with parties, others independent. He urged voters to consider all options carefully to identify those they can truly trust—representatives who have consistently stood by the people. He confidently stated that many councilors and MPs around him have journeyed together since the Future Forward Party days.
He added that in the 2019 election, voters did not choose the Future Forward Party expecting it to form the government, but because they wanted to create new politics that would break the cycle of coups. Every vote given back then was not wasted. However, for this election, both councilors and governor candidates have significance beyond simply choosing the next officeholders or managing local issues like streetlights and water flow. To him, this election means changing politics toward the kind they've always fought for, starting from Bangkok. Previously, local elections often required turning a blind eye to budget approvals. Will Bangkok residents accept billions being passed without scrutiny? How much change can billions of baht bring?
Nattapong emphasized that this election requires choosing governor and councilors who will bring real change, led by a city leader courageous enough to make those changes. He expressed confidence in Chaiwat, who believes in his own potential and is committed to daily self-improvement—a key leadership quality. When faced with difficulties, Chaiwat stands firm and trusts his team and councilors. With such belief, he will never betray the people.
"Today, Thailand has many talented individuals, but what its politics has always lacked are leaders with firm political will. Regardless of the issue's size, if it conflicts with the people's interests, such leaders stand firmly and boldly speak out loudly enough for the people to know, acting as a protective shield for them. This is what I believe Bangkok residents want in their next governor," Nattapong said.
Nattapong concluded that they will grow the orange movement, filling it with hope depending on the people's decision in the next two days. He urged Bangkok residents to vote with hope, expressing their will and inspiring others across provinces. When local politics changes by electing straightforward councilors who scrutinize public budgets and governors or mayors with genuine will to effect change, our quality of life will improve significantly. If Bangkok residents decide this way, he promised that within four years, they will prove that their choice inspires other provinces and together they will transform Thailand's politics in the next election.
