“Chama Kongudom” campaigned alongside her father “Chatcha Taopoon” in the final stretch for the Bangkok Metropolitan Council election after visiting all 49 Bang Sue communities, promoting the slogan that every problem must be solved immediately. Meanwhile, “Chatcha Taopoon” emphasized that politics should begin with helping people to address their needs promptly and effectively. They stressed the importance of direct community support as the foundation of political work.
On 27 June 2026 GMT+7, reporters reported that on 26 June, Ms. Chama Kongudom, candidate number 5 for the Bangkok Metropolitan Council in Bang Sue district, continued her campaign efforts. Accompanied by her family, the Kongudoms, she met with residents of Prachanarit community, also known as “Wood Street,” to listen to the concerns of local people and business owners. She then announced her commitment to urgently address these issues under the slogan that every problem must be solved immediately.
Mr. Chatchawan Kongudom, also known as Chatcha Taopoon, stated that he has instilled in Ms. Chama the value of community service from a young age through hands-on work helping residents. He emphasized that a representative’s duty is to listen to problems and push for concrete solutions, especially focusing on improving quality of life and creating educational opportunities, principles long upheld by their family.
Mr. Chatchawan further reaffirmed his commitment to promoting the policy of free education up to a bachelor's degree, aiming to provide all children—particularly those from underprivileged backgrounds—with equal access to education. He believes that education is a vital tool for improving quality of life and reducing social inequality.
Ms. Chama revealed that after visiting all 49 communities, the most frequent complaints involved inadequate water supply, insufficient street lighting, damaged roads, broken drainage covers, and incomplete canal dredging. She aims to prioritize urgent solutions, especially focusing on 'Safety First' by installing and repairing lighting in high-risk areas to enhance community safety immediately.
Additionally, she plans to develop “Wood Street” into a tourist destination and a central hub for woodcraft in Bangkok by promoting trade, organizing annual events, and attracting tourists. This initiative seeks to generate income for local entrepreneurs and support the community’s economic growth.
Ms. Chama affirmed that although some may view her as a “privileged child,” she has consistently engaged closely with residents throughout her campaign. She believes the best problem-solving starts with firsthand understanding and is committed to representing Bang Sue residents by bringing their issues to the council for swift and tangible resolutions.
