Thanakorn Urges Opposition to Criticize Constructively, Confident Every Baht of 2027 Budget Will Improve Citizens Lives

Thanakorn is confident the government will use every baht of taxpayers' money to genuinely improve the quality of life for the people, focusing only on what is necessary for the country's long-term development. He urges the opposition to debate with facts instead of emotional mudslinging.

On 27 June 2026, Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana, party-list MP from Bhumjaithai Party, said regarding the consideration of the 2027 annual budget bill that Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul clearly instructed all ministers to fully explain and respond to MPs' questions. He believes the government will use every baht of the budget to solve problems and genuinely raise citizens' quality of life, using funds efficiently to address both short- and long-term issues with transparency. The Prime Minister also emphasized value for money in public spending, requiring alignment with global situations. Projects that are not urgent or necessary, such as constructing office buildings or overseas training and study visits, should be limited as much as possible if needed.

Thanakorn added he asks the opposition to debate based on facts and tangible evidence, not just emotions aimed at satisfaction without benefit to the people. Even the credit rating agency Moody's has upgraded Thailand's economic outlook, and public investment in the past quarter has grown significantly. These facts prove that investor confidence is returning. Therefore, if the opposition truly cares about the country, they should debate constructively and propose reasonable solutions, rather than resorting to mudslinging solely to gain votes.

"Government budget spending follows the government's policies and aims to stimulate the economy, but remains within financial discipline frameworks. I affirm the government will use taxpayers' money as efficiently as possible for sustainable national development and in accordance with the law," Thanakorn said.
