
Bangkok Governor Election 2026: Bangkok residents began voting before 8:00 a.m. Officials emphasized that voters today will receive two ballots—a green ballot for the Bangkok Governor and a pink ballot for the Metropolitan Councilors.
On 28 June 2026 at 8:00 a.m., reporters observed that even before the polling stations for the Bangkok Governor and the 50 Metropolitan Council districts opened, eligible voters were already lining up to cast their ballots. It is expected that voter turnout will continue steadily from the morning through the afternoon.
Officials will allow voting from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. They emphasized that each voter will receive two ballots today: a green ballot to elect the Bangkok Governor and a pink ballot to elect Metropolitan Council members.
On the same day, elections for the Pattaya Mayor and City Council members are also being held from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eligible voters there will likewise receive two ballots: a green ballot for the mayoral election and a pink ballot for city council members.
The Election Commission has issued a warning prohibiting the sale, distribution, or serving of any alcoholic beverages in election areas from 6:00 p.m. on 27 June until 6:00 p.m. on 28 June. Violators face penalties of up to six months imprisonment, a fine of up to 10,000 baht, or both, under Section 123 of the Local Council or Local Executive Election Act B.E. 2562 and its amendments.
