Bangkok Governor Election 2026: Bangkok residents began exercising their voting rights even before 8:00 a.m. Officials emphasized that voters will receive two ballots today: a green ballot to select the Bangkok governor and a pink ballot to select Bangkok councilors.
On 28 June 2026 at 8:00 a.m., reporters noted that the atmosphere before the opening of the Bangkok Governor and Bangkok Metropolitan Council elections across 50 districts saw eligible voters arriving early to cast their votes. It is expected that voter turnout will continue steadily from morning through the afternoon.
Officials stated that voting will be open from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., and reiterated that voters will receive two ballots today: the green ballot to vote for the Bangkok governor and the pink ballot to vote for Bangkok Metropolitan Council members.
On the same day, elections for Pattaya Mayor and Pattaya City Council members are also being held from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eligible voters there will similarly receive two ballots: a green ballot to vote for the mayor and a pink ballot to vote for city council members.
The Election Commission Office issued a warning prohibiting the sale, distribution, gifting, or provision of any alcoholic beverages within election areas from 6:00 p.m. on 27 June until 6:00 p.m. on 28 June. Violators face imprisonment of up to six months, a fine not exceeding 10,000 baht, or both, according to Section 123 of the Local Council or Local Executive Election Act of 2019 and its amendments.
