Poramet Ngampichet expressed gratitude for every vote after taking the lead over his competitors but has not yet declared victory, highlighting his plan "Pattaya Version 2" to elevate the city as a world-class tourist destination and improve quality of life to global standards

28 Jun 2026 GMT+7 Poramet Ngampichet the Pattaya mayoral candidate from the We Love Pattaya group, revealed after the initial vote count that the preliminary results are a positive sign, with him currently leading. However, he cannot declare victory yet as the counting is not complete, and he expressed thanks for all votes of confidence given to the We Love Pattaya team.

Poramet stated that the early vote count reflects the public's positive response to his hard work over the past period. Nevertheless, he must wait for the official results before declaring victory. He also thanked all citizens who exercised their voting rights and entrusted their votes to him, noting that regardless of the election outcome, he deeply appreciates the trust of the people. This election marks his ninth candidacy in both national and local politics, experiencing both successes and setbacks, but every vote remains a vital encouragement.

If entrusted to govern Pattaya again, he plans to advance the city under the concept of “Pattaya Version 2,” aiming to elevate Pattaya as a global tourist city with international quality of life. He intends to increase international events and festivals to generate income and broaden the city’s image beyond just an entertainment hub, transforming it into a Music City, Sport City, Wellness City, as well as promoting it as a Film City and the center of the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC).

Regarding infrastructure development, Poramet said he will expedite a systematic solution to flooding within four years through a major drainage tunnel project on South Pattaya Road. He will also promote construction of a second waste incinerator and support installation of electric vehicle charging stations to drive the city toward a low-carbon society.

To improve quality of life, he will push for public health projects including health checkups, doctor and nurse home visits, and animal welfare programs involving spaying, vaccination, and establishing animal protection networks. These will be complemented by enhancing elderly welfare through senior schools, happiness centers, and parenting schools.

In education, he plans to promote project-based learning, expand upper secondary education opportunities in Pattaya municipal schools, implement the “Pattaya Kids Must Know How to Swim” initiative, and support sports activities aligned with the Sport City policy.

Additionally, he aims to drive the city toward becoming a Smart City by using technology to improve management efficiency and transparency, expanding CCTV coverage in vulnerable areas linked to the Pattaya Connect system, thereby enhancing safety for residents and tourists.

Poramet concluded by emphasizing development of the Na Kluea, Jomtien, and Koh Larn areas, building on local identity, promoting traditional fishing livelihoods and the creative economy, to propel Pattaya toward becoming a world-class tourist city alongside sustainable international quality of life.
