
Bangkok has announced unofficial results for the governor and council elections, with Chatchart leading strongly, surpassing 1.4 million votes. Voter turnout was below 50%, down from the previous election. Official results will be announced again within 30 days.
At 21:30, Mr. Narong Ruangsri, Permanent Secretary of Bangkok acting as director of the local election, together with Second Lieutenant Samphan Saengkhamlert, director of the Bangkok Election Commission Office, and Mr. Khachit Chachawanich, member of the Bangkok local election commission, held a press conference summarizing the voting for Bangkok governor and council members in 2026 across all polling stations in Bangkok.
Mr. Narong stated that the unofficial vote count for the Bangkok governor and council elections, conducted four and a half hours after polls closed, showed that approximately 90% of the results from 6,628 polling stations in 50 districts had been entered into the system.

Regarding voter turnout, there was about a 10% decrease compared to the previous election. For the governor election, there were 4,428,644 eligible voters, with 2,201,739 casting ballots, representing 49.7%. For the council election, 4,384,693 were eligible, with 2,077,921 voting, or 47.4% turnout.

Bangkok authorities expressed gratitude to the citizens who voted and praised the dedication and sacrifice of over 74,000 officials and staff who helped ensure the election was orderly, honest, and fair.
Next, Bangkok will compile official vote documents and submit them to the local election director for verification before reporting to the central Election Commission for official certification of the results.
