29 June 2026 GMT+7 Ms. Ratchada Thanadirek, spokesperson for the Office of the Prime Minister, revealed that Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Chanvirakul has been granted royal permission to accompany the King as an honorary minister to serve and receive royal guidance from His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen during their official visit to the French Republic. This visit takes place from 28 June to 2 July 2026, following an invitation from President Emmanuel Macron, commemorating 170 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Kingdom of Thailand and the French Republic in 1856, and continuing the 340th anniversary of the first contacts between the two countries in 1685 last year.
Today, the Prime Minister assigned Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Ekniti Nitithanprapas to present the draft Budget Appropriation Act for fiscal year 2027 at the first reading stage. (principle acceptance) and requested the Cabinet to use this opportunity to respond clearly to questions from members of the House of Representatives and to explain to the public the necessity, urgency, and key objectives of budget allocation according to each agency's mission.
The consideration of the 2027 budget bill first reading will take place from 29 June to 1 July 2026 over three days. The draft budget was prepared under fiscal constraints and ongoing global economic uncertainties, aiming to address both short-term public welfare and long-term investment to enhance the country's competitiveness. The total expenditure amounts to 3.78 trillion baht covering three main goals: national security and resilience, investment in new industries, and improving citizens' quality of life.
For the weekly Cabinet meeting tomorrow (30 June), the Prime Minister assigned Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn to chair the meeting at the Parliament building for convenience in responding to parliamentary inquiries.
