Julpan Reveals Pheu Thai Has New Constitution Draft, Awaits MP Signatures Congratulates Chadchart on Bangkok Governor Election Win

Julpan revealed that the Pheu Thai Party already has a new draft constitution and is currently gathering MPs' signatures. He expressed congratulations to Chadchart Sittipunt on winning the Bangkok governor election and affirmed the party's willingness to cooperate in working for the people of Bangkok.

At 09:06 on 29 June 2026 at the Parliament, Julpan Amornwiwat, a party-list MP and leader of the Pheu Thai Party, spoke about the progress of the party's constitution draft. He said, “We now have a new draft with party signatures, currently missing one or two due to recent commitments. We are coordinating and seeking cooperation from other political parties to complete the signatures so that the Pheu Thai draft can be one of the proposals considered.” When asked about when the draft would be submitted to the parliamentary speaker, Julpan stated, “The timing has shifted from originally presenting it before this session ends because opposition parties requested to postpone the agenda. It is expected to be in the next session, so we still have ample time to complete the process and will definitely meet the parliamentary schedule.” Regarding reports of division within Pheu Thai over whether the Constitution Drafting Assembly should be 100% elected, Julpan said, “This is common in all political parties; not everyone thinks alike. Diverse opinions are normal, but ultimately everyone adheres strictly to the party’s resolutions. For details, I have assigned party-list MP Sutin Klangsaeng to explain further.”

Julpan also commented on the Bangkok governor election results, saying, “I congratulate Chadchart Sittipunt, who broke his own previous record and was reelected as governor. I believe that with this strong public trust, he will continue focusing on his work and achieve goals in solving problems for the people of Bangkok.” He added, “As a minister, I am ready to work together with both the governor and Bangkok Council members, along with the Ministry of Labor, to drive initiatives beneficial to the public. Although Pheu Thai did not field a candidate this time, 11 individuals who love the party requested to run under its name, and the party approved. Four have been elected, and we congratulate them. For those not selected, the party will not abandon them and believes in their commitment to continue working politically for the people.”
