The Permanent Secretary of the Interior authorized a representative to file a complaint against the CSI LA page after it disseminated false information involving an audio clip that implicated the Permanent Secretary's wife in local exam corruption, causing reputational damage, contempt, and hatred.
At 11:00 a.m. on 29 June 2026, Mr. Arsit Sampantharat, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, assigned a legal officer from the Ministry's Legal Office to file a complaint with investigators at the Crime Suppression Division, Central Investigation Bureau.
The authorized legal officer stated that he was empowered by the Permanent Secretary to file a complaint with investigators to prosecute all involved parties regarding a video clip circulating online on the Facebook Fanpage “CSI LA.” The admin of this page and associates posted the message: “Expose new audio clip! Wife of the Permanent Secretary?? The 4.5 billion baht local exam cheating scheme. The latest audio clip clearly shows that the mastermind behind this is powerful enough to act without fear! There is now an attempt to cover up the corruption in local government recruitment by blaming lower-level officials to close the case! Who is the big culprit behind this? To find out, listen to the clip yourself!” They also posted an approximately 5:02-minute audio recording.
“This constitutes defamation by asserting facts to a third party with the intent to damage another’s reputation, cause contempt or hatred by disseminating the message to the public. According to general perception, the message likely causes reputational harm, contempt, or hatred, and is not a bona fide opinion expressed in good faith. This has caused damage to the Permanent Secretary of the Interior and others.”
Initially, investigators have interviewed the complainants and accepted the complaint as evidence. They will now gather all evidence and submit it to their superiors for consideration and further legal action against those involved.
