Akkaradej Supports 2027 Budget, Highlights Grassroots Economy to Drive OTOP and Community Enterprises as Engines for National Recovery

Akkaradej, Ratchaburi MP from the Bhumjaithai Party, supports the 2027 budget, highlighting the grassroots economy as the engine for national recovery. He believes promoting OTOP and community enterprises will increase income and reduce inequality in society.

On 29 June 2026 GMT+7, Akkaradej Wongpitakroj, Ratchaburi MP from the Bhumjaithai Party, spoke in support of the 2027 fiscal year budget bill. He stated that this budget has several strengths that will help the country overcome the economic crisis caused by energy issues and global geopolitical situations. He stressed that driving the grassroots economy is essential to improving the livelihoods of the people.

Akkaradej said the government led by Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul places great importance on grassroots citizens and small entrepreneurs, who are key drivers of the national economy. The grassroots economy relies on local resources, wisdom, and culture to create added value and income for communities. It serves as a vital tool to reduce economic and social inequality, with three main components: self-reliance, efficient use of local resources, and income distribution within communities.

He added that the government has increased budget allocations to concretely promote community enterprises and OTOP projects, covering product development, expanding sales channels, financial support, and upgrading knowledge through the OTOP Skill project. This aims to modernize products, meet international standards, and enhance processing capabilities.

Akkaradej also noted that this budget will help raise the standards of community products, improve packaging, increase processing quality, and promote exports abroad. This will generate income for farmers and local entrepreneurs. The key indicator of economic recovery is increased income and purchasing power among farmers, laborers, and community residents. If the government enables communities to be self-reliant, it will reduce inequality, distribute income, and sustainably strengthen the grassroots economy.

For these reasons, he supports the House of Representatives approving the 2027 fiscal year budget bill so the government can use it as a tool to develop community economies and improve the quality of life for the people.
